ARM stands for Accredited Residential Manager the designation awarded by IREM to specialists who manage residential property. Whether you manage rental apartment complexes,rental mobile homes, rental condominiums, rental single-family homes, single-room occupancy apartments (SROs) or homeowners' associations whether you are the resident manager, property manager, or asset manager the ARM designation identifies you as a trained, certified professional. ARM designees improve the lives of their residents and enhance the value of the properties they oversee.
Becoming an ARM Applicant
The first step toward becoming an ARM is to submit the ARM application. If you have not met all of the requirements to become an ARM today, you are still encouraged to submit your application, which will give you affiliation with IREM as an ARM applicant. Once an ARM applicant, you will begin to receive IREM benefits and services such as receipt of the bi-monthly magazine, Journal of Property Management, the member-rate tuition for IREM courses, access to the members-only section of IREM's web site, and much more. As an ARM applicant, you may remain in applicant status for up to five years, in which time you'll need to complete all of the requirements and be approved for ARM status.
